Five uses for Castor Oil

five-uses-for-castor-oil

Castor oil has to be one of my fav oils!

There are so many different benefits and uses with this ancient oil

To name a few:

1. Great for your hair

Castor oil is super moisturizing, rich in fatty acids, and great for circulation . It works by stimulating blood flow to the hair follicles thus promoting new hair growth and so great for those split ends. I have been using castor oil in my hair for the past two months and I can notice a difference. My roots come in a lot faster than usual and my baby hairs are growing….big win!

Castor oil hair treatment:

Castor oil can be pretty sticky/messy…. So what works for me is to have damp hair before hand as it can be easily applied throughout my hair. I emphasize my root area. You can leave on for 1-12 hrs. And to rinse you may need to shampoo twice as it is a thick oil.

Believe me, your hair will thank you for it!

2. Castor Oil Packs

This has to be one of my fav uses of castor oil. Castor oil packs are super beneficial for aiding the body with detoxing.

A Castor Oil Pack is a soaked castor oil cloth placed on the skin to enhance circulation, promote healing of the tissues and organs under the skin, and decrease inflammation. It is also quite commonly used as a liver detox.

How to use a castor oil pack:

Soak a flannel or cotton cloth in castor oil

Place onto the desired area

Overlap the cloth with plastic wrap

Place a heating pad on top

3. Dry Brushing

Dry brushing is AMazING! It’s super aiding your body stimulate important detoxification systems. After dry brushing apply the castor oil to further detoxify your body. And then proceed to taking a shower.

4. Acne

Castor oil can help the appearance of acne. It is high in ricinoleic acid which fights acne causing bacteria.

How to use for acne:

Wash face with warm water to open pores

Massage the oil into your skin

5. Dark circles under the eyes

Castor oil does wonders for those dark circles by increasing blood flow.  If you have a late night lather on the castor oil before bed. By the morning your eyes will look refreshed.

There are so many more uses for castor oil but these top five have to be my fav!

5 Health Benefits of Bee Pollen

One of my new favorite things to add to my smoothies, cereal, or yogurt is bee pollen.

Bee-pollen-smoothie

Bee pollen is one of nature’s most powerful foods. It’s more rich in proteins than any animal source and contains more amino acids than beef, egg or cheese of equal weight – who wouldn’t love that!?!
